Job Bank

If you are looking for a job, we hope you'll find this service helpful. The job openings that are posted have been submitted by local employers who are looking for qualified persons. The job listing is updated as new openings are submitted or filled. We rely totally on local employers who submit their information to make this service effective.

DISCLAIMER: We, in no way, endorse the businesses listed below but pray that each company would function with high standards and ethics. We encourage you or others applying for a position to inquire about the company and pray about being a part of the company.

Support Group

In addition to the Job Bank, St. Michael also offers a Support Group for those who may be struggling with job loss during these difficult economic times. Our Support Group is led by professionals and provides assistance with resume and cover letter writing, along with interviewing techniques and general encouragement and support. The Support Group meets on an as needed basis. If you would like information about our Support Group and meeting dates, call the church office at 432-2033.

One on One Assistance

We also offer one-on-one assistance to job seekers who need help with computer skills, such as navigating the internet or searching or applying for jobs online, resume writing, or just need encouragement and mentoring during a job loss. If you need assistance in any of these areas, contact Linda Grossman.

Faith-based Networking

In addition, COPE (Company of Hope) is a faith-based networking discussion and support group for anyone who is out of work, laid off, terminated, or downsized and wants support, advice and encouragement from those in similar situations. The group meets at 3705 South Anthony Boulevard (on the campus of Bethlehem Lutheran Church) and is facilitated by Gary Younghans. The group meets every Monday except holidays and conducts a leader-facilitated discussion from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and after that an optional networking and informal support group from 10:00 to 10:30 a.m. There is no cost and you can join anytime. Please phone Terri at 744-3228, ext. 306, if you have questions.

Community Charity Outreach

Another helpful resource is the Community Charity Outreach ministry at St. Michael. This ministry assists individuals who are in financial need. Some aid is provided through church budget items and door offerings. Referrals to other local social agencies is also provided. The ministry arranges assistance with groceries through the Community Harvest Food Bank, and in some cases, can provide assistance with rent. school fees, and utility bills. If you need assistance in any of these areas, contact the church office at 432-2033.
