KYLE SPALDING
July 22, 1978 - August 8, 2024
It is with great sadness that we mourn the loss of Kyle Spalding, who was tragically killed while responding to a power outage near Steep Rock, MB.
Kyle leaves behind his wife Melanie, his sons, Ethan and Aiden, mother Judy (Rod), father Dave (Joanne), sister Kerri (Kevin), in-laws, Jack (Donna), Blair (Janeen), nieces, Emma, Ava, and Faith, nephew Bradley, and grandmother Rita.
A lineman with Manitoba Hydro, Kyle spent 27 years working to supply and maintain hydro-electric power across the province to his fellow Manitobans. It was something he truly loved, and his dedication during that tenure was exemplary.
There really aren’t enough hours in a day to fully describe what a great man Kyle was. The mere mention of his name is often enough to bring about a smile or prompt a funny tale. And that’s how he would have wanted it. His kindness and generosity touched so many, and his passion and commitment made such a positive impact on his community.
It’s hard to imagine what this world will look like without him. He will be missed in so many ways. The sadness in our hearts serves as a reminder to the man he was. It stems from the knowledge that nothing will ever be able to replace him. The best we can do is keep him with us in our thoughts and hold on to the light he gave us.
Kyle will be remembered for many things. A lineman, a coach, a son, a brother, an uncle, a friend, but most importantly, a husband and a father. He always gave it everything he had, and in doing so, left behind a legacy that will truly stand the test of time. The rest of us should be so lucky.
In memory of Kyle "Top Flyte" Spalding

Dear Judy, Rod, Kerry-Jo and extended family, I just do not have the words to express the shock and devastation I felt when I heard the news. I have never known another man like Kyle. My family was lucky enough to have known Kyle since our children went to ECS together with Mrs. Butters and then Westbrook School. Kyle was always the kindest, nicest young man I knew.
