BaT Auction Success Story: Fiat 850 Coupe Off to Begin New Adventures

This just in from the seller of the 1971 Fiat 850 Sport Coupe that was sold via BaT Auctions just last week (link).

“Randy, and everyone at BAT,

Thanks for creating a great venue for uniting buyers and sellers alike. The Fiat 850 Sport Coupe sale went through without a hitch. It met reserve early on the second bid, I had one local interested party that was so close I drove to his house to show the car. Ultimately the car was sold to Michigan. Auction closed on Tuesday afternoon, and the buyer made contact with me almost immediately after the sale. We chatted further about the car, and I got a great feeling that it had found the right home. Funds were in the bank the next day, and the title paperwork left for Michigan. Later that afternoon, the buyer, ‘detroitdatsun’ let us know he’d arranged shipping and it would be picked up two days later on Friday. The car climbed the trailer ramps on Friday at dawn, and was off to begin a new adventure. It’s a great community of enthusiasts, and all of my selling experiences through the site (pre-auction format, and now utilizing the auction) have been positive. Thanks to auction winner ‘detroitdatsun’ for the speedy transaction, and thanks again to everyone at Bring A Trailer.

Cheers
‘hardtuned’
Jeff G.”

See Where They Rust: 1959 Jaguar XK150 FHC

“See Where They Rust” is a series and category where we feature listings that do a particularly good job displaying where certain models tend to suffer from rust. We love looking for rust-free cars, but we have learned a ton about how to inspect the dry cars from looking at photos of heavily rusted models. Obviously floors and rocker panels are always at risk, but every model has different special areas where they corrode. We hope that this series is informative and helpful when you are verifying the claims of sellers and their “99% rust free” cars. -BaT

This 1959 Jaguar XK150 FHC may be missing its right door, but that promises to be among the least of its needs. Find it here on eBayin Steubenville, Ohio with no reserve beyond an unmet $8k starting bid. Special thanks to BaT reader Zach Z. for this submission.
